Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the visa – free entry, travelers need to:
- Hold a valid ordinary passport.
- Arrive in Hainan by direct international flight from their home country or transit via a third country or through the Chinese regions of Hong Kong or Macao.
- Enter through one of Hainan’s international ports, such as Haikou Meilan Airport, Sanya Phoenix Airport, Yangpu Port, Haikou Port, Qinglan Port, Basuo Port, Sanya Port, and the temporary opening period of Qionghai Boao Airport.
- Have a confirmed return ticket and hotel reservation.
Purpose of Visit
The visa – free access is applicable for tourism, business activities, family visits, medical treatment, participation in exhibitions, attendance at sporting events, and other non – work or non – study reasons .
Duration of Stay
The visa – free stay is for 30 days, starting from midnight on the second day after entry .
Activity Scope
The activity scope is limited to the administrative region of Hainan Province .
Tips
- If you plan to stay in Hainan for more than 30 days or travel to other areas within China, you must apply for a visa document with the public security bureau’s exit – entry administration department at least 7 working days in advance.
- While staying in China, you must not engage in activities that do not correspond to the reasons for your stay and should leave the country before the expiration of the stipulated stay period.
- If you are staying in a hotel in Hainan Province, you should provide your passport for accommodation registration. If staying at a residence other than a hotel, you or the host must register with the local police within 24 hours of your stay .
